No need to race to fill up your car's gas tank.
Gas prices in Toronto are expected to spike by close to 4 cents Wednesday night. But gas price watchdog Dan McTeague says Niagara should escape the jump.
It usually takes a day or 2for gas price changes to reach Niagara. McTeague says this increase may only last a day, so it may miss the region altogether.
Niagara has an extra layer of protection thanks to more variety in where we can fill up & our proximity to the border.
Still, price swings at the pump have been very dramatic in the last month or so, yo-yoing up & down 3 & 4 cents at a time. McTeague says many local gas stations are opting to keep prices fairly steady so as not to upset the apple cart.
In Niagara Wednesday afternoon, a litre of regular will set you back anywhere from $1.16-$1.23.
