Flames of War makes it's debut tonight at Fort George

7/7/2012

Starting tonight Flames of War will take over Niagara-on-the-Lake.

The film is just one event marking the 200th anniversary of the declaration of war by the United States on Great Britain starting the War of 1812.

The film is a production of Parks Canada, Steve Shaw Productions and producer Barbara Worthy.

It's described as a fusion of sound, light, music, dance, drama and video, projected on the exterior of a Parks Canada Heritage Blockhouse in the historic grounds of Fort George, Niagara-on-the-Lake.

It highlights the causes and events of the War of 1812, as seen through the eyes of the people living through it.

A highlight of 2012 Bicentennial activities, Flames of War, will be shown this summer on Friday, Saturday and Monday evenings beginning July 7, and will include signature special events, as well as live opening and closing celebrations.
