7/30/2012

A shooting in Niagara Falls.

610 CKTB's Siobhan Morris says it happened at 1:30 in a residential area near Simcoe and St.Lawrence, close to Simcoe school.

One male has been sent to Hamilton hospital with a gun shot wound to his torso.

He is said to be awake and talking to doctors in hospital.

Police are not revealing information about a suspect, but the K9 Unit is on the scene.

Officers confirm they are looking for one male suspect.

Police are looking for a black man, 5"11, thin, wearing a black baggy shirt, jeans, with a blue baseball cap with a flat peak.

Several young men have been taken from the scene for questioning.

Eye witness reports are conflicting.

Some say a young man was shot in a drive-by shooting others say a group of men could be seen running after shots were fired.
