Open fire ban lifted in old town

8/7/2012

Niagara on the Lake is the latest municipality to lift the ban on open air burning, put in place earlier this summer to ensure public safety during extreme drought conditions.

However, residents are still encouraged to use caution when burning wood and brush or using any outdoor, flame-producing devices, including barbecues, patio torches, candles or campfires.

The Town's Fire & Emergency Services wants to remind people that a ban could be imposed again depending on weather conditions.
