Gas prices to jump overnight

8/28/2012

You can blame tropical storm Isaac for an expected spike in pump prices overnight.

The cost for a litre of regular will shoot up 3.4 cents at GTA gas stations after midnight Tuesday.  Swings in the cost of gas usually take a few days to reach Niagara.

Gas price watchdog Dan McTeague explains Isaac isn't the only factor in the price change.  He says the market is also factoring in concerns about a fire at a Venezuelan oil refinery.

Tuesday, a litre of regular in Niagara will cost you $1.24-$1.28.
