UPDATE-Torso in Niagara River

8/31/2012

An autopsy continues on the female torso found in the Niagara River.

Niagara Regional Police say right now it is critical that they identify the victim.

NRP are working with other police forces in Ontario and New York state to determine the identity of this woman.

They are reviewing missing person case files in both countries.

There are just under 20 missing persons cases they are looking into at this time.

What we know right now is that she is white, anywhere between middle 20's to late 40's and has a pierced belly button.

It also appears she has had one C-Section and her tubes tied.

Niagara Regional Police also say this case has nothing to do with the Peel Region body parts case and that the torso does not belong to the victim there, Guang Hua Liu.
