NRP still no closer to identifying victim in torso case

9/4/2012

Niagara Regional Police along with New York State police officials revealing a little more information on the female torso found in the Niagara River last Wednesday August 29th.

Police now say the victim is white and anywhere between 31-55 years of age, she has had two C-Sections, her tubes tied and had a belly button ring where the hole closed up.

Inspector with Niagara Regional Police Jim McCaffery says it is important for you to check on family members, friends or co-workers you haven't heard from in a while.

McCaffery says investigators had around 50 missing person cases in Canada that fit the criteria to review, with the vast majority now being eliminated.

Meanwhile, police in New York State have expanded their missing person case file to include all of NY state, with the possibility of expanding into other states.

Late last week police wrapped up the search for more body parts along the Niagara River and said they are not ruling out resuming the search at some point.
