Sunken boat hoisted out of water in Port Dalhousie

9/7/2012

More than four days after it sunk, St. Catharines firefighters and the Niagara Regional have hoisted a boat out of the water in Port Dalhousie.

A crane was needed to lift the sunken craft.  No one was on the boat when it slipped under the water in front of Port Mansion Monday morning.

The boat had leaked fuel in to the water, prompting officials to put up a containment boom to keep the fuel from spreading further.

The investigation is continuing.
