The Countess of Wessex in Niagara

Here's your chance to meet a royal today in Niagara.

The Countess of Wessex, Sophie will be visiting Queenston Heights in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

That's where a big 1812 celebration is planned.

A parade, and re-enactment of the battle between the Lincoln Militia and General Brock will be held.

The Countess is expected to be there at 9:30 a.m and she will take part in the ceremony at Queenston Heights.

She will make a formal presentation to the Lincoln and Welland Regiment as they receive new colours.

If you are heading down, you are encouraged to bring a chair.

Later today the Countess will be at Niagara College at the school’s Niagara-on-the-Lake campus.

The wife of Prince Edward, youngest son of Queen Elizabeth is expected to visit the Wine Visitor and Education Centre at 3:15 p.m.

If you plan on seeing Sophie you are asked to be there between 2:30 and 3p.
