Niagara IceDogs enjoy the rest of the weekend off after Friday's shootout win

9/22/2012

The Niagara IceDogs moved to 2-0 on the season as they topped the Brampton Battalion 2-1 in a shootout in Brampton Friday night.

Anthony DiFruscia would pick up his second goal in his second career OHL game at 4:31 into the second to give the IceDogs a 1-0 lead.

When neither team could find the back of the net in overtime, the IceDogs and Battalion headed to the first shootout of the OHL season.

Steven Shipley would be successful on his shot in the second round giving the IceDogs the extra point and a 2-1 victory.

The IceDogs will now enjoy the rest of the weekend off, before returning to action next weekend when they hit the road to visit the Ottawa 67's and Kingston Frontenacs.
