Marineland protestors force their way into show area Sunday

Dozens of protesters forced their way into Marineland Sunday, calling for an end to marine life in captivity.

A crowd that police pegged at about 800 gathered outside Marineland and later about 150 of them broke into the park near the show area.

Additional Niagara Regional Police Officers and Parks Police Officers were deployed to the area where they regained control of the situation.

The crowd was disbursed off the private property where they peacefully reassembled near the roadway.

The protest remained intact for a short time with the majority leaving by 3:00 p.m..

No injuries or property damage to report.

Marineland has said that its animals are well cared for.
