10/8/2012

Two local women remain in serious condition after a single car crash in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Police say a car lost control on Niagara Stone Road near Concession 7 early Sunday morning sending the vehicle up into the air and landing on it's roof in a vineyard.

The 27 year-old driver from Thorold was rushed by air-ambulance to the Hamilton General Hospital with apparent life-threatening injuries.

The 22 year-old passenger from St.Catharines was first taken to the St. Catharines General Hospital, but was later transferred to the Hamilton General Hospital.

Police have information that a second vehicle was in the immediate area at the time of the collision and may have been indirectly involved in this incident.

Police are appealing to the driver and or passengers of that vehicle to contact investigators.

This collision remains under investigation by Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Service - Collision Reconstruction Unit. Any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact investigators at (905) 688-4111, extension 5500.
