New Brock quarter unveiled

MP for Niagara Falls Rob Nicholson unveiled the first of four circulation coins which commemorate key historical figures from the War of 1812.

On the eve of the 200th anniversary of Major-General Sir Isaac Brock’s death on the battlefield at Queenston Heights, the Justice Minister unveiled the new Royal Canadian Mint 25 cent piece honouring his memory as a hero of the War of 1812. 

There will be 12.5 million coins available, with circulation on the Sir Isaac Brock quarter starting tomorrow.

Look for it in your change or get it at face value on line at mint.ca/1812.
