Girl attacked by dogs back in surgery as police investigate

10/14/2012

Police are calling it a "horrific accident."

A 5 year old girl attacked by three Rottweiler dogs in Pelham Friday afternoon remains in critical condition at Toronto's Sick Kids Hospital.

She had surgery on Friday night, and it's believed she was back in surgery yesterday afternoon.

The dogs that attacked the girl belonged to the family on Effingham Street.

The girl was alone when the dogs attacked.

Police say she suffered so many injuries, police can't list them.

Three dogs were removed from the property by the Welland Humane Society and are being held pending a investigation.

Some neighbours say the dogs have been a problem in the past and they were afraid of them.

It's believed the family has four children.

Police said the investigation is continuing and are not saying if any charges will be laid.
