Man dies in Fort Erie crash

A 27 year old Niagara Falls man has died after a crash in Fort Erie.

A person driving on Townline Road came across the single vehicle crash at 2:50am Sunday and called 9-1-1.

Police and emergency crews responded and found the man ejected from his vehicle and rushed him to Greater Niagara Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the man was driving his 2003 Dodge Durango, east bound on Townline Road when he lost control of his vehicle and went off into the south ditch where it rolled and struck a hydro pole.

The N.R.P.S Canine Unit assisted with a search of the area to confirm no other occupants were in the vehicle.

The name of the man is being with held until next of kin have been notified.

This collision remains under investigation by Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Service - Collision Reconstruction Unit. Any witnesses or information relating to the collision are asked to contact investigators at (905) 688-4111, extension 5500.
