Crashed Ice = Crushed Hope (video)
In the end, it was a pylon that did me in.
Well, 2 pylons really. But who's counting?
The refs. That's who. Oh, right.
Tuesday night, 250 guys tried to skate, slide & jump their way into RedBull Crashed Ice coming to Niagara Falls on Dec. 1st. The rink was split up into 2 identical (well, mirror opposites actually) obstacle courses. Each skater had 2 chances to set their best time - once on the left course, then another chance on the right - racing head-to-head with another wannabe. The timing was automatic & digital for each individual racer, so leaving on the whistle actually didn't matter, although most did. The top 5 times (Yes - top 5 out of 250!) qualified for the real race coming up in Niagara Falls Dec. 1st.
Oh, right - I missed a rule.
If you knock over or push a pylon out of place, your run is disqualified.
So, how did I do? I hit a pylon on both runs, meaning I didn't really record a time.
However (trying to save some face), my times (had I not knocked the pylons) appear to be fast enough to have put me into the Top 5.
Crap.
So, you want to see me do this?!?!?!
KJ RUN #1 (watch me clip the very first pylon with my glove)
KJ RUN #2 (watch me clip the last pylon with my knee)
