The Amazing Race Canada appeared to kick-off Friday morning in Niagara Falls. Producers & staff (including some within Niagara Parks) are sworn to secrecy, so there's no "official" word on what went down, but it HAS to be the opening of the northern installment of the reality show.
See for yourself
Reports on social media Friday had the contestants leaving Niagara Falls, then driving to the Toronto Airport (Lester B. Pearson) before catching a flight to Vancouver.
According to CTV, The Amazing Race Canada will debut July 15, with the winners getting "the biggest prize ever awarded for a Canadaian competition television series" - $250,000, a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray & tickets to fly anywhere Air Canada flies for 1 year.

Spencer's in the Pen Centre sells vibrators & stripper poles. Oh, they also sell hats, belts & novelty tees that are geared for the teen & tween market.
I went into the store yesterday and bought hats for my nieces (aged 1 1/2 & 3 1/2), but was surprised (if not appalled) at some of the items on clear display. Vibrators, sex toys, lotions & potions fill the back corner of the store, with no divider - accessible to all. Not to mention the novelty mugs & tees with visible, eye-level profanity - and I mean LOTS of it. I haven't seen the f-word used that much outside of a Quentin Tarantino movie.
Do you think these items should be available at a mall? In a store that caters to teens?

What tween doesn't want a stripper pole?

An anti-bullying video from Canadian spoken-word artist Shane Koyczan has gone viral, and rightly so. You'll remember Shane from his piece during the opening ceremony of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics (see video below). Officially titled "To This Day Project", the anti-bullying vid was originally released as audio-only in 2011, to little acclaim, before the addition of animation this year made it viral, with over 1,000,000 views and climbing.
I share it with you so you can share it with the people in your life.

"We Are More" (extended version). Thanks to the Olympics for controlling all forms of media, making this the only decent version to share with you. I apologize on their behalf -lol

We saw Bon Jovi Monday night at the ACC in Toronto - great show! Jon was nailing it & I have a new respect for Richie Sambora who did it all. There wasn't much flash to the concert (fireworks, props, etc.) as the pics & videos will show, but for a stripped-down rock show it delivered. The sound was the best I've ever heard in an arena, and the veterans sounded tight. Well done Bon Jovi, well done.

Were you there? Have you seen Bon Jovi? Are they always very, very good - because they were last night.
