Siblings of celebrities occasionally see some spill over fame as a result of their brothers or sisters' popularity.

Occasionally, many members of a family are in show business and it's simply that one achieves more success than the other. The Baldwins would be a prime example.

At other times only one member of a family feels a calling for the arts and when they become mega-famous, after a while the celebrity machinery will discover their family.  Siblings of the famous is a popluar category on line.

Sometimes there is a great familial resemblance yet one can easily see why one sib is more “camera-friendly” than the other. Tom Hanks' brother Jim, pictured below left, (when you add hair) looks a lot like Tom but just doesn't quite have that appeal. Jim did stunt double work for Tom in Forrest Gump and Cast Away. No offence intended but Patrick Swayze's younger brother Dan, below right, looks like a Patrick that didn't quite turn out.

Another example of that is Brad Pitt's brother Doug, a fine enough looking man yet but for a few subtle features, doesn't have the movie sex appeal his brother does. It seems also, at least to a clever Virgin Mobile ad, he doesn't quite have the lifestyle either, although if you watch the ad, he lives pretty well thank you very much.
