RIP Sage Moonblood Stallone-1976-2012

The eldest son of Sly was found dead in his L.A. home Friday afternoon (July 13/12) at around 2:15 by his housekeeper. He was 36.

His famous father is said to be "devastated and grief-stricken" by the sudden death. He was born May 5, 1976 in Los Angeles to Sly and first wife, actress Sasha Czack. He played Rocky Balboa Jr. in Rocky V, his acting debut. He also appeared with his father in Daylight in 1996 and had small roles in 9 other productions.

TWO STORIES

In addition the younger Stallone was co-founder of Grindhouse Releasing, specializing in theatrical and video release of restored B movies from the 70's and 80's. Friend Quentin Tarantino used his Grindhouse logo at the beginning of Kill Bill and Grindhouse.

Some describe Sage as full of life, not depressed, with plans to marry soon. Others say he lived a Howard Hughes-like hermit existence and may have been dead anywhere from 3 days to a week. Cleaning staff were often instructed not to enter his room or even knock on his door. TMZ reports it was littered with cigarette butts, empty beer and soda cans, food leftovers and reeked of various disgusting smells. It is said a drawer full of assorted pills were also found although there is no immediate connection between them and his demise.

It was only after no one had heard from him for several days that staff was told to check in on him. So far law enforcement sources believe his death to be an accident. A security hold is in place and an autopsy is planned. Some sources report a drug overdose but this is no where near confirmed.

Sage's most recent appearance was in a 2011 television documentary about the "Rocky" films. Sly's publicist has issued the standard press release asking for privacy. LEAVE COMMENTS.
