With the 2010 Olympic Games kicking off this Friday, athletes from all over the world have been training on Mount Washington on Vancouver Island.The first Ghanain to ever qualify for the Winter Olympics is one of those athletes training at the mountain.Kwame Nkrumah Acheampong is competing in slalom skiing.Canadian Jean Paul Richard is at the mountain too. He is now coaching the Swedish men's moguls team.Mount Washington has extended an open invitation to other Olympic teams who have had their practise schedules reduced at Vancouver's Cypress Mountain due to a lack of snow.For the Canadian Press, I'm Dirk Meissner.
