OPP Says Kick The Tires and Ease Up On The Gas !
A reminder to take care behind the wheel.
Ontario Provincial Police are joining forces across the country in marking Canada Road Safety Week. O-P-P Constable Graham Williamson tells CKTB News week long campaign (May 13-19) aims to make Canada's roads the safest in the world. Williamson says lead-foot drivers are big problem. He says 21 speeders across the province are having their cars impounded every day. Williamson says drivers are increasingly distracted behind the wheel, often by tech toys and gadgets. While G-P-S can be helpful, Williamson points out many motorists devote too much time to the virtual road, rather than the one in front of them.
While Williamson says there are many things you can do to stay safe on the road, maintaining your tires is key. Williamson points out the rising temperatures from spring into summer has an impact on your tire pressure. Not only will keeping your tires in good shape keep you safe, Williamson says it will keep your gas costs down too.
