Nearly 300 special needs children, including several from Niagara and Western New York, are off to Disney today (Wed.) for a whirlwind one-day visit.
It is part of the 19th Annual Dreams Take Flight. The kids are flying aboard two Air Canada Boeing 767s, named Mickey and Minnie, landing at Walt Disney World. For many kids, it is the first time they have been on a plane. They are doing it alongside some Canadian celebrities. Former Leaf Doug Gilmour is a passenger and Walter Gretzky will meet up with the group at the Magic Kingdom.
They will spend a day of fun in Florida, landing back in Toronto early Thursday (May15) morning.
