Another cyclist has been injured in the same area of St. Catharines where a Quebec cyclist was killed just the day before.
Niagara Regional Police Constable Derek Watson tells 610 CKTB news police were called out yesterday evening to the intersection of Decew Road and First Street Louth after a report a cyclist had fallen over a railing injuring his leg.
He says the bike hit the guard rail on a turn, was catapulted from his bike and travelled through the air about 8 metres before falling into the grass on the other side of the rail.
Despite the two back to back accidents, Watson notes there has not been a high incidence of cycling accidents in that area, although there have been three accidents involving vehicles in the last year.
Watson says its an area enjoyed by cyclists because its downhill, winds and is quite challenging.
But he notes it also is an area that tests the brakes on bicycles and there is also a lot of vegetation that limits visibility.
