Marineland protest planned

8/16/2012

After an onslaught of negative publicity following a expose about allegations of animal mistreatment, Marineland will have to deal with protestors outside the park this weekend.

On their website, the Marineland Animal Defense says it will be protesting at the Niagara Falls tourist attraction on Saturday between 12 and 2 pm.

Theres no word on where the protestors will set up.

Earlier this summer, Marineland leased the boulevard in front of the park from the city preventing protestors from setting up pickets.

Yesterday, an expose in the Toronto Star featured accusations from former animal trainers at the park regarding alleged animal mistreatment and neglect.

Just to clarify, Marineland Animal Defense has participated in scheduled protests all summer, not just in response to the recent exposure. However, the turnout this Saturday is expected to be much, much, bigger than any of this year's protests.

I am just wondering just how many of these protesters have been to Marine Land before they went to the protest to see for themselves just how bad it is for the animals?
Ok so Phil Demers has worked there for 12 years, what formal education and training does he have in Marine Biology? I did not see a DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree) or even a B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science degree) after his name.
