Neighbours say they want peace after another Marineland protest

9/16/2012

Enough is enough.

That from the neighbours of Marineland owner, John Holer.

Neighbours of the Chippawa Parkway neighbourhood where Holer lives called police yesterday, and yelled at protesters gathered outside Holer's home.

Some of the signs read ‘Protesting the Protesters.’

Neighbours say they are tired of protestors parked on the street, gathering outside their homes and using foul language around their kids.

Two more protests are set at Marineland for September 29th and the park's closing day, October 7th.

People are outraged after allegations of abuse of Marineland's animals from a former employee.

Oh my God, talk about a biased piece of "reporting". There should be laws against this c&&p. You make it sound like protesting in front of his house is a regular occurrence. The foul language was actually being used by a resident in front of his own kids. Most residents were indifferent or supportive. Were you actually there?? Are you blind and deaf? Very few people exchanged words for a very short time, the rest of the protest went off without a hitch.

@JoanneC_9651 I disagree..a friend of mine had visited Marineland and witnessed the protestors yelling and swearing at the young children.

So its not ok for animal cruelty (which i agree, totally against it) but it's ok to swear and young innocent children? I don't think so.....

And by the way, people have been outraged for years. Their outraged is based on documented facts, observations, and pictures. The only difference now is that more people now know about the horrendous conditions at Marineland., and pele are generally starting to be less selfish and thinking about things from the animals' point of view.

i'm not sure where you got this information since you did not have a reporter on site. there was one woman with a sign- the ONLY sign and ONLY person that was "counter-protesting"- that said "protesting the protesters. again, since you weren't actually there and since you probably just ripped off of John Law's horribly written article, i can see why you have no idea what you're talking about.
ps 2 neighbors (who were not even on his street, actually) of probably about 30 that we talked to were unsupportive. the rest were happy to have us there and a few actually joined in!

Okay, this is it. I am sick of being nice. Your reporter is a bare faced liar.
The only neighbours complaining were 2 yahoos - one bare foot and his gut hanging out and one drunken old sod who roamed around yelling and cursing at people. These 2 men were so gross and so hillbilly like that it would have been laughable except for the names they were calling us. They wanted to physically fight. One sign read Protesting the Protesters and that woman didn't even come off her porch. We were parked legally except for 1 inch on the boulevard. We moved our cars off the inch on the boulevard and the screaming yahoos had to do the same. We are tired of the nonsense and liars from the papers. Get your facts straight before you report. Just a thought - how much was your reporter and the yahoos paid by John Holer to cause this fuss?
