More charges laid against officer accused in cheese smuggling


One of the Niagara police officers accused of smuggling cheese over the border is facing more charges.

Constable Scott Heron charged with one count of Breach of Recognizance, in alleged violation of the terms stating he was not to have more than one cell phone or paging device and had to provide detailed monthly statements to the Niagara Regional Police Service.

Huron was one of three police officers arrested and charged in connection with a large scale smuggling scheme to distribute cheese products and other food items into Canada.
