Panning for Pan-Ams

We will find out this evening who will be the host of the 20-15 Pan Am Games.

Toronto and surrounding communities are going up against Peru and Colombia.

Premier Dalton McGuinty is leading the delegation lobbying for the Games in Mexico, and says Ontario has the best bid.

Niagara has a stake in the Games as well.

Rowing would be held in St. Catharines on the Henley Regatta course, while kayaking would be in Welland at the International Flatwater Center.

Niagara Falls will also be the site of a welcome center, hosting athletes and visitors.

The decision should be made around 6 o'clock tonight.  (Fri Nov 6)
