WHO IS THAT?

(Between all the e mails and running into people "on the street" I have noticed that many of the questions I get begin to repeat themselves. I thought this section might help you find out what you want to know about me or the show. If after reading this segment you still have questions, feel free to e mail me at the address above.

1. Where do you get your ideas?

There is an IDEA store on my way to work. Some assembly is required and it's tougher loading the bigger ideas in the car myself but I enjoy the savings.

2. Why don't you look more like you sound?

I wish I felt more like I smell.

3. Are you any relation to L. Jackson Fedoruk?

He was my grandfather's brother. I was named after him. Most people remember him for his reggae influenced one-act passion plays like "Walk A Little Faster" and "Rory In The Garden", the latter of which received a coveted Idylwyld Award for evocative lighting. He always took pride in his first off-Broadway marquee despite the obvious errors.

However he was a fascinating character on many other levels. In 1959 he married Sophia Loren's 2nd cousin Edmonda and the couple often summered in southern Italy with Sophia and Carlo Ponti. I believe it was Sophia who took this picture.

It was on one of these vacations that he came up with the idea for the metal spout they insert into the cardboard box of table salt, a patent his estate still holds to this day. He owned and drove the first ever BMW in Canada. A photostat of that certificate of distinction from BMW appears within the liner notes of his only Christmas album, "Tree Tree, I Sing Of Thee."

In 1973 he pitched the CBC on an idea for a TV channel with nothing but cooking shows. In 1981 he came up with the idea for granite counter tops. After the passing of Edmonda (they had no children), "LJ" as the family called him, hobbied quietly in his garden where he developed a hybrid white rose with one red stripe on only one petal. The "Jackson", as it is known in floral circles, sells only in India.

Before his death in 1993, his legacy was slightly marred when Consuelo Suez, her father designed the canal, filed a paternity suit against LJ claiming her 32 year old son, Kelvim, was a product of an on again/off again affair they carried on for years. Nothing was ever proven or settled but the L. Jackson Fedoruk Foundation to this day makes a hefty annual donation to support youth soccer in Latin America.

A movie adaptation of "Rory In The Garden" is currently being developed at Fox. Jude Law and Kevin James are attached to the project.

4. Who does your opening theme song?

It is called Love Today by Mika from his Life In Cartoon Motion CD. The CD also contains his famous Grace Kelly song.

5. Why don't you have more callers on your show like other hosts?

I certainly don't solicit callers the same way other hosts do, because I think if you have something to say that you want to share, you will call. My phone lines are ALWAYS open at 905-688-CKTB, 1-877-610-CKTB, #610 on Bell Mobility, or the dedicated Larry Fedoruk program line 1-877-610-BLUB.

6. How do you take your coffee?

Black with one sugar. On the top of the lid at the Tim's drive-thru they always write the letters BS. I always look down and say to myself, "I just bought a big cup of BS" and then I chuckle to myself. I do this Everytime.

7. So all that stuff in The Usual Suspects, like, never really happened?

Technically yes but versions of it did occur as told my Verbal Kint but as Keyser Soze said "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. And like that, poof, he's gone."

8. Was Abraham Lincoln gay?

How should I know? There is a group called Log Cabin Republicans, a federated gay and lesbian political organization in the United States. The "log cabin" reference is to Lincoln who many believe WAS gay.

9. How's it goin?

Not too bad. You?

10. What's new?

I guess I get asked THIS the most. Tough question. Usually pretty depressing cause how often is something new? Then you think, why aren't there more things new? Then you think you should re-structure your whole boring life but you don't, cause, well, who's got time so I usually just answer, "not much, how bout you?"
