The Ontario Ministry of Labour has laid four charges in the death of a St. Catharines toddler almost a year ago.
3 year-old Kolton Tkachuk was killed last May, when he was struck by the garage door at his family's home.
A construction company hired to repair the floor of the garage was on site when the door hit the toddler.
Kolton's father Kyle says one of the workers released the handle of the garage door opener, causing it to come down.
Concrete Finishes Niagara and a supervisor have been charged under the Occupational Health and Safety Act .
The charges include failing to ensure measures and procedures under Ontario regulations were carried out at a workplace.
The case will be in provincial offences court on May 16.
