EQAO results are in and most Niagara students are still passing the grade

The EQAO results are in.
Niagara students in the both the Catholic and public boards, for the most part, score above Ontario's average.
When it comes to the District School Board of Niagara students in grade 3 and 6 in reading and writing ranked 4-11 points above the provincal average.
The public board says a "blip on the radar" is responsible for its Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test with 77% of students passing the test, which is 9 points below last year's results.
The provincial success rate this year was 79%.
Officials say staff will continue to examine the data from this most recent test to identify specific areas requiring additional attention and support.
Taking a look at the Niagara Catholic School Board, grade 3 and 6 students barely kept up with the provincal average.
Students in grade 6 with the separate board fell behind when it comes to math with 47 percent of students passing the test compared to the provincal average of 49 percent.
Catholic students taking the OSSLT scored equal to Ontario's average.
