12 hours later Ti Cats say controversial former Baylor coach will not join team after all

Former Baylor head coach Art Briles won't be heading north after all.

The C-F-L and the Tiger-Cats issued a joint statement last night saying Briles wouldn't be joining Hamilton's staff.

The Ticats touched off a media firestorm yesterday by hiring Briles as an assistant head coach offence.

Briles was fired as Baylor's head football coach last year after an investigation discovered the school mishandled numerous sexual assault allegations.

Ti Cats owner Bob Young tweeted last night the league had saved the team from a " major blunder" and promised a fuller apology today.
