An 18-year-old St. Catharines man is facing charges after a shelter-in-place, over an armed person, at Brock University Saturday night.
Niagara Police were called just before 6 p.m. to reports of an armed person at a student residence on the university's campus.
Police were told the suspect, who was not a Brock student, went to the residence to confront three acquaintances over a previous dispute.
When the confrontation took place, police say the suspect uttered death threats while displaying what was believed to be a black handgun.
The three, who were not hurt, ran for safety and locked themselves inside a dorm.
A shelter-in-place order was sent out to the school community.
Police then determined the suspect left the area in a vehicle, and the order was lifted.
Officers learned the suspect was at a home in north St. Catharines, and he was arrested after surrendering just after 7 p.m.
Police say the handgun, used in the case, was located and found to be replica airsoft pellet gun.
18-year-old Dante Palumbo of St. Catharines has been arrested and charged with Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Harassment, and Uttering Threats.
