We now know why there has been a heavy police presence in St.Cathairnes in some areas of the city.
A 29 year old St.Catharines man is facing death threat charges following a threat made to a business in the area of Bunting Road and Welland Avenue.
The alleged threat was made over the phone at 8:30 yesterday morning against a man and woman and involved a fire arm.
Police says the business was locked down, and officers tracked the suspect down at a home near Welland Avenue and Ontario Street.
As officers started investigating the case, they found the suspect was allegedly selling drugs from his home.
Members of the Emergency Task Unit entered the apartment around 5:30 p.m yesterday afternoon and arrested the suspect.
During the course of the arrest the suspect made a death threat against one of the officers.
Dylan Joseph Maniacco of St. Catharines is charged with uttering death threats, and drug trafficking.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Further charges are anticipated.
