Police in Hamilton are investigating the alleged theft of 34 exotic birds from a home.
Police say that 12 of the birds _ Forbes tricolour parrotfinches _ are rare and difficult to raise.
The other birds were different varieties of colourful finches.
Investigators say a shed built for housing the exotic birds was broken into between Nov. 7 and Nov. 12.
Police are asking anyone with information to come forward
