A wrong turn onto the Peace Bridge led to customs officials discovering $4,700 in counterfeit currency.
On Monday, US Customs and Border Protection agents stopped a vehicle driven by a 20 year old man.
He said he was from Yemen and was a permanent resident of the US, however he did not have proper ID.
Although officers were able to verify the claim during a further inspection, a search of his vehicle revealed 47 counterfeit $100 bills stashed in the storage area of the door.
The fake money was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations.
