A Hamilton man has been handed a five-year prison sentence in connection with a massive security breach at Yahoo.
Twenty-three-year-old Karim Baratov was also fined 250-thousand dollars U-S in connection with the breach, which U-S federal agents say was directed by Russian government spies.
Baratov pleaded guilty in November to nine felony hacking charges.
Prosecutors allege that the Russian security service hired the Kazakhstan-born Baratov to target email accounts using information from the Yahoo hack, but Baratov's lawyers say he didn't know he was working for the spy agency.
