Niagara College students with accessibility concerns are getting a boost thanks to CIBC.
The college has announced a two-year pledge of $50,000 from CIBC to fund 10 scholarships for students registered with Accessibility Services, while the other half of the funding will be used for assistive technology and equipment.
Student Services director Lianne Gagnon says approximately one in six Niagara College students self-identify as having a disability including auditory disabilities, visual impairments, mobility impairments, or mental health challenges.
"This really illustrates the critical need for us to ensure that we have the proper supports in place so our students can thrive while they're here with us at NC."
