A 50/50 draw in support of Community Care St. Catharines/Thorold was a major success.
Executive Director Betty-Lou Souter says the final number amount raised was over $50,000, so the winner walked away with $25,000.
Who was the winner??? A man very well-known to the agency.
Brandon Currie, a local financial adviser, says he will definitely give some of the money back to help people in need.
Currie has already called a local grocery store and Community Care to let them know some of his financial winnings will be on the way.
Currie has supported Community Care for over two decades.
Souter says one of her first memories of Currie was at one of the first Mayor's pancakes breakfasts when he was just a teenager supporting the community.
