Niagara's recycling plant is getting a drum feeder.
The $500,000 piece of equipment is placed at the beginning of the sorting line, and helps Niagara Recycling facilities separate garbage and recycling materials.
Acting Public Works Commissioner Catherine Habermebl says this will make the facility more efficient.
She says the drum feeder should pay for itself in two years.
She says this is a first step in addressing industry changes and allows Niagara to profit off materials.
