The province sinking $500,000 into a planning grant for the proposed expansion of rehabilitation beds at Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital.
The grant will help Hotel Dieu Shaver complete the first stage of planning for the proposed project to upgrade its aging facility.
Health Minister Christine Elliott made the announcement this morning saying the move puts the government one step closer to ending hallway health care in Ontario.
She says it'll add more rehabilitation beds and improve access to services to families in the Niagara Region.
The government did not provide any opportunity for journalists to ask questions during today's announcement.
In May of 2018, then MPP Jim Bradley made the exact same announcement by the Liberal government.
