Six IceDogs were listed among the 70 OHL players by NHL Central Scouting in their Final Rankings for the 2017 NHL Draft which takes place June 23-24 in Chicago. Kirill Maksimov, Matthew Phillip, Oliver Castleman, Ben Jones, Ondrej Machala and Stephen Dhillon were all noted by Central Scouting.
Kirill Maksimov leads the way as the #66 ranked CHL skater. After being acquired by the 'Dogs from Saginaw, Maksimov scored 15 goals and added 7 assists in only 29 games. Also making the grade are Matthew Phillip at 152, Oliver Castleman at 164, Ben Jones at 170 and Ondrej Machala at number 215.
Among CHL goaltenders, Stephen Dhillon was the 21st ranked netminder. Dhillon had a breakout season, recording a .914 save percentage, while facing and stopping more shots than any other OHL goalie.
