Gordon Lightfoot will be remembered today.
Mourners will gather in Lightfoot's hometown of Orillia today for a public visitation.
It's being held at St. Paul's United Church from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
At 2 p.m., the church bells will ring 84 times, for each year of Lightfoot's life.
Lightfoot died on Monday at the age of 84 and tributes have been pouring in from around the world ever since.
He is most known for his songs, “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” and “If You Could Read My Mind.”
Orillia residents began placing flowers at a bronze statue of the singer in a local city park.
The city lowered its flags to half-mast and books of condolences were available at the opera house and Orillia City Centre.
