After more than three decades, the Fort Erie Friendship Festival is calling it a day.
The head of the board of directors, Dave Sevcik tells Niagara This Week, after looking at the money needed to move forward, the board decided last year would be the final year for the festival.
The three day annual event held during the Canada Day/Independence Day long weekend, began in 1987 to mark the bond between Canada and the U.S.
Some of the countries top bands of the day graced the stage at Mather Arch including The Tragically Hip, Blue Rodeo, Honeymoon Suite and Theory of a Deadman.
