We are learning more about the sudden decision to put Grimsby's CAO on leave, a move that was reversed a week later.
The Standard's Grant LaFleche reporting Grimsby Mayor Jeff Jordan made the decision based on an anonymous email levelling allegations against CAO Harry Schlange.
On Monday night, Grimsby council reversed the suspension and offered an apology to Schlange.
LaFleche is reporting the email was sent from a Gmail account in the name of Jamie Spencer and was sent to Grimsby councillors and dozens of other politicians in Niagara and Brampton.
Schlange left the Niagara Region during the tenure of Regional Chair Alan Caslin and was later dismissed as CAO of Brampton by former Conservative Party leader Patrick Brown who is now the city's mayor.
