A heartwarming story in time for Christmas.
The Lincoln County Humane Society says thanks to generous donors, a dog at the shelter will be spending the holidays at a temporary home.
LCHS Executive Director Kevin Strooband says in November a woman, named NIcole, escaped an abusive relationship and fled to a local women's shelter.
Unfortunately Nicole couldn't take her dog Cuddles with her, so Cuddles has been staying at the LCHS.
After her story was posted on Facebook, dozens of offers of help poured in and a donor from Florida paid the final bill, which the LCHS reduced for keeping the dog in its care.
Cuddles is now in the care of a foster family until Nicole gets back on her feet and finds an apartment the two can call home.
