Niagara's Regional Chairman reacting to a weekend media report criticizing a regional councillors expense claims.
The report highlights mileage claims made by Fort Erie Councillor Sandy Annunziata.
At issue, claims for travel to Toronto to appear on a radio roundtable.
Annunziata says he uses the show to promote Niagara and doesn't understand why he is being taken to task.
The Fort Erie councillor says " Despite being invited as a political guest to join a political roundtable,on a political talk show, introduced a 100 percent of the time by my official title, I am apparently not acting in my official capacity."
Alan Caslin would not comment specifically during an appearance this morning on CKTB's Roundtable.
He says his office does not see councillor expenses.
But he adds he has instructed staff to adopt a new policy on expenses that will be presented to council later this month.
