A proposed US law that would require carmakers to build alarms for back seats is being pushed by two-dozen child and road safety advocacy groups who say the alerting technology would prevent kids from dying in hot cars.
The law also would streamline the criminal process against caregivers who cause the deaths.
The latest deaths came in Phoenix, Arizona on Friday and Saturday when two baby boys were found forgotten in vehicles in separate incidents as the mercury topped 38 Celsius.
