US President Donald Trump says his labour secretary is stepping down following criticism of his handling of the Jeffrey Epstein sex-abuse case.
Trump made the announcement this morning with Alexander Acosta by his side.
Acosta was the US attorney in Miami when he oversaw a non-prosecution agreement with Epstein, allowing the wealthy financier to avoid federal sex abuse charges and instead plead guilty to solicitation charges.
Acosta came under fire for that deal when federal prosecutors in New York filed new charges of sex trafficking young girls against Epstein.
