Addiction issues will take centre stage at St. Catharines' City Council meeting tonight.
Associate Medical Officer of Health Doctor Andrea Feller, Positive Living Niagara's Executive Director Glen Walker, and Niagara Area Moms Ending Stigma are all making presentations as council takes another look at the opioid crisis and supervised injection sites.
According to tonight's agenda Niagara EMS attended at least 520 suspected opioid overdoses last year.
During his State of the City address, Mayor Walter Sendzik pledged the city would be getting a safe injection site - an idea met with raucous applause.
The meeting gets underway at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
