The Ontario government is launching a grant program to help families cover the costs of post secondary education for adopted children.
The new Living and Learning Grants are meant to provide support to adoptive families who have a child enrolled in a full-time postsecondary program.
The grant provides $500 per month for each student.
The province says it will also be sending 15 new adoption recruiters across Ontario next month to help connect more Crown wards with adoptive families.
Crown wards are children and youth being cared for by foster homes or group homes because they have been abused or neglected or because their family situation could place them at risk.
